The man, the myth, the barber-styling legend: Ivan Zoot
Sunstate Academy hosts salon industry icon, Ivan Zoot, as he demonstrates his world record talent and techniques on the Salon Solaris floor. Known for his barber-styling techniques and incredible speed, Ivan Zoot brings a wealth of knowledge to share with our students, graduates, and local salon owners.
In 2008, Ivan Zoot, also known as ClipperGuy, was added to the Guinness World Records for the fastest haircut and the most haircuts in an hour. He cut a full head of hair in 55 seconds, and he gave 34 haircuts in one hour. Both record setting feats were accomplished at the Men's Grooming Center in Austin, Texas.
Since claiming his world titles, Ivan Zoot has been busy inspiring and educating barbers on clipper cutting trends and other men's hair cutting techniques. He has written several books on the topic and is respected in the salon industry for his talent. In addition, he is the founder of Zoot! Hair, which is a product line that focuses entirely on short hair.
Ivan Zoot will be demonstrating at the Fort Myers campus on Tuesday, February 7, 2012 from 9:00 am to 11:00 am. He will visit the Clearwater campus on Wednesday, February 8, 2012 and will demonstrate from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm. Both events are open to all students, graduates, and our local salon owners.
